Holy Week 2024 began with Palm Sunday where we all processed with palms around the sanctuary, and our kids played a Holy Week "freeze frame," telling the stories of the week through silent, frozen pictures.
On Maundy Thursday, we washed each other's feet, celebrated First Communions (see previous post), and stripped the altar. We remembered Jesus' passion on Good Friday with a Tenebrae services of passion readings, hymns, and the gradual extinguishing of light. On Easter Sunday, we told Mark's gospel story of Jesus' resurrection...where Terror and Amazement seized the women who came the tomb. Rachel Papenfuss received a blessing from Pastor Dave and her parents and a quilt from the St. John's quilters.
