About St. John's Lutheran Church of Cedarbrook
St. John's Lutheran Church of Cedarbrook is an ELCA congregation west of Aitkin, Minnesota. Founded in 1891 and originally named the St. Johannes Geimeinde der Cedar Lake, the founding families were of German origin. Founding members donated the land for the original church building which served the congregation from 1892 through 1951--along with a parsonage for the pastor and family and the cemetery. For the first few decades of its life, worship services were in held in both German and English; in 1952, the name of the congregation was changed from German to English. The current building was completed in 1952, a beautiful handicap-accessible addition completed in 2004. Throughout the years, the people of St. John's of Cedarbrook have weathered many storms--but with resilience, generosity, and openness to the Spirit of God.
WORSHIP THE LORD WITH GLADNESS.
COME BEFORE HIM SINGING WITH JOY.
COME BEFORE HIM SINGING WITH JOY.
